Interview rules are very strict but apparently people break them anyway. I think there might just be too many. Can I ask this, can I ask that? It's especially difficult if you're an employer who isn't part of a corporation. I mean how are they supposed to know?

Well in the states it's more of an "illicit manuver" than anything else. Like ethnically they can't ask them. If they do then you don't HAVE to answer the question and that can't officially be a reason they hire or don't hire you. I don't think I've seen any sanctions or cases on it or anything personally. I don't think there's a formal fine, but going into business they do have a formal list of questions for an interview that you CANT ask.

That being said, let me creep back to the topic with my curiosity satisifued. Again, one of the few times I'm agreeing with OB but I still feel like this if nothing else should just be a protection from being FIRED on those grounds. I don't understand why there should be a law to be sure you can't be denied on those grounds. Are these employers profiling? Does wearing leather pants make one homosexual as a man? Does having long hair and wearing lipstick make a woman hetro sexual? Is there now a way we can stereotype professionals during an interview process to indirectly determine if they are homosexual? What headlines have I missed?

Further thoughts?
